Designed for High-Density Underfloor Air Delivery
The Infinity Air-Stream is designed for raised-floor data centers where standard perforated panels may not provide enough conditioned airflow to high-density equipment areas.
Its 55% open area allows substantially more air to move from the underfloor plenum into cold aisles and equipment intake areas than lower-open-area perforated panels.
The Air-Stream is particularly suited for:
- High-density server racks
- Data center cold aisles
- Contained cold-aisle environments
- Cloud-computing facilities
- Retrofit cooling projects
- Areas with elevated rack airflow demand
- Facilities upgrading from conventional 25% airflow panels
Actual airflow will depend on factors including:
- Underfloor static pressure
- Cooling-system capacity
- Damper position
- Plenum depth
- Cable and piping congestion
- Air leakage
- Rack intake requirements
- Containment strategy
For more information about selecting between perforated panels and higher-flow grates, see our guide to perforated raised floor panels vs. air grates.
Adjustable Flush-Fit Design
A major advantage of the Infinity Air-Stream is its ability to adapt to different raised-floor configurations.
The panel can be adjusted to fit finished floor thicknesses from approximately:
1″ to 1-11/16″
This helps the grate sit flush with surrounding floor panels and makes it particularly useful for retrofit projects involving existing access-floor systems.
The Air-Stream can adapt to many:
- Steel raised-floor systems
- Concrete-filled panel systems
- Woodcore raised-floor systems
- Existing 24″ access-floor installations
Depending on the existing system, adapters or leveling components may be required.
Before ordering, verify:
- Existing floor manufacturer and model
- Exact panel dimensions
- Panel thickness
- Pedestal-head configuration
- Stringer configuration
- Finished-floor elevation
- Required load capacity
- Whether adapters or leveling components are needed
If you are unsure which raised-floor system you have, review our Raised Access Floor Panel Identification Guide before ordering.
Optional Infinity Quad Damper Kit
The Infinity Air-Stream can be paired with the optional Quad Damper Kit to regulate airflow through individual grates.
The damper flexes into position beneath the panel and allows facility teams to balance conditioned-air delivery according to rack cooling demand.
A damper can be useful when:
- Cooling demand varies between racks
- A full 55% open area is not required at every location
- Equipment configurations change
- Cold-aisle airflow needs to be balanced
- Facility teams want greater control over underfloor air distribution
The Quad Damper Kit is sold separately.

Built-In Self-Retracting Lift Handle
The Air-Stream includes a built-in self-retracting lifting handle, allowing technicians to remove the panel without relying exclusively on a separate floor-panel lifting tool.
This is particularly useful where airflow panels are periodically removed for:
- Cable installation
- Underfloor inspection
- Cleaning
- Cooling-system adjustments
- Infrastructure maintenance
The handle retracts when not in use so it does not interfere with the finished floor surface.
Black Air-Stream vs. Standard Air-Stream
The black and standard Air-Stream panels provide the same core high-flow functionality. The primary difference is the finish.
| Feature | Black Air-Stream | Standard Air-Stream |
|---|---|---|
| Open Area | 55% | 55% |
| Published Airflow | 1,100 CFM @ 0.10″ Hâ‚‚O | 1,100 CFM @ 0.10″ Hâ‚‚O |
| Construction | Welded steel | Welded steel |
| Static Load Options | 1,250 / 1,500 lb | 1,250 / 1,500 lb |
| Ultimate Load | 4,000 lb | 4,000 lb |
| Finish | Black conductive epoxy | Standard finish |
| Best Fit | Dark-floor or black-equipment environments | Standard raised-floor environments |
If the installation does not require a black finish, see the standard Infinity Air-Stream 55% High Flow Panel.
55% Air-Stream vs. 66% Max-Air
For applications requiring even greater open area, Infinity also offers the Max-Air 66% High Flow Panel.
| Feature | Air-Stream | Max-Air |
|---|---|---|
| Open Area | 55% | 66% |
| Primary Use | High-volume airflow | Very high-volume airflow |
| Best Fit | High-density cooling and retrofit installations | Applications requiring maximum open area |
Choose the Air-Stream when 55% open area provides sufficient airflow.
Consider the Infinity Max-Air Black 66% High Flow Panel when the cooling design calls for even greater open area.
Compare Data Center Airflow Panels
| Model | Open Area | Construction | Published Load | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ASM AF250 | 25% | Steel | 1,000 lbf concentrated | Standard airflow / FS & S-Series |
| ASM AF1250 | 25% | Steel | 1,250 lbf concentrated | Higher-load 25% airflow / FSD & SD-Series |
| ASM AF320 | 32% | Steel | 1,500 lbf concentrated | Higher airflow with heavy-duty steel construction |
| ASM AF500 / AF600 | 56% | Aluminum | 1,750 / 2,500 lbf concentrated | High-volume airflow with aluminum construction |
| Infinity Air-Stream Black | 55% | Steel | 1,250 / 1,500 lb static options | High-flow retrofit applications requiring a black finish |
| Infinity Max-Air Black | 66% | High-flow grate | Verify model specification | Maximum-open-area applications |
Open-area percentage should not be the only selection factor. Compatibility, structural load requirements, underfloor static pressure, cooling-system capacity, rack demand, and airflow-control requirements should all be considered.
When Is the Black Infinity Air-Stream a Good Choice?
The black Air-Stream is particularly well suited for:
- High-density data center cold aisles
- Cloud-computing environments
- Facilities upgrading from lower-open-area perforated panels
- Existing raised floors requiring retrofit flexibility
- Installations requiring approximately 55% open area
- Data centers using black or dark-colored flooring
- Facilities where equipment and floor finishes are visually coordinated
- Locations requiring optional airflow balancing
- Areas where easy panel lifting and underfloor access are important
Frequently Asked Questions
How much open area does the Infinity Air-Stream provide?
The Infinity Air-Stream provides approximately 55% open area, placing it in the high-flow grate category rather than the conventional perforated-panel category.
How much airflow does the Air-Stream provide?
The published specification lists approximately 1,100 CFM at 0.10″ Hâ‚‚O static pressure. Actual installed airflow will depend on underfloor pressure, cooling capacity, damper position, leakage, containment, and other facility conditions.
What load capacity does the Infinity Air-Stream have?
The product is available with 1,250 lb and 1,500 lb static-load options and has a listed 4,000 lb ultimate load capacity.
What is different about the black Air-Stream?
The black model uses the same basic Air-Stream high-flow design but features a black conductive epoxy finish, making it better suited to facilities with dark flooring or black equipment.
Will the Infinity Air-Stream fit any 24-inch raised floor?
Not automatically. Although the adjustable design provides broad retrofit flexibility, existing panel dimensions, pedestal heads, stringers, floor thickness, and finished elevation should be verified before ordering.
Is a damper available?
Yes. The optional Infinity Quad Damper Kit can be installed beneath the panel to regulate airflow.
What is the difference between the Air-Stream and Max-Air?
The Air-Stream provides approximately 55% open area, while the Infinity Max-Air provides 66% open area for applications requiring greater airflow potential.
Does the panel require a separate floor lifter?
The Air-Stream incorporates a built-in self-retracting lifting handle for easier panel removal and underfloor access.
Availability & Fitment
Product availability varies depending on warehouse inventory. Large-quantity orders beyond available stock may require approximately 16–20 weeks for fulfillment.
Because airflow grates must fit the existing raised-floor system correctly, please verify compatibility before ordering. Airflow panels are non-returnable.
