Designed for Underfloor Air Distribution
The AF1250 is designed for raised-floor data centers where conditioned air is supplied through a pressurized underfloor plenum and delivered to cold aisles or other equipment intake areas.
Its 25% open area provides controlled airflow without moving into the much larger open area used by high-flow grates.
Actual airflow through the panel will depend on factors such as:
- Underfloor static pressure
- Cooling-system capacity
- Damper position
- Plenum depth
- Cable and piping congestion
- Air leakage around penetrations
- Rack airflow demand
- Cold-aisle containment
For more information about when to use perforated panels versus higher-open-area grates, see our guide to perforated raised floor panels vs. air grates.
Optional Airflow Dampers
The AF1250 can be supplied with airflow-control options including:
- Top-adjusting slide dampers
- Galvanized slide dampers
- Configurations with or without a damper
Dampers allow facility teams to regulate airflow through individual panels as rack density and cooling demand change.
This can be especially useful in cold aisles where neighboring racks do not require identical amounts of conditioned air.
Raised Floor Compatibility
The AF1250 is designed to be interchangeable with compatible:
- FSD-Series raised floor systems
- SD-Series raised floor systems
Before ordering, verify:
- Existing panel manufacturer and model
- Exact panel dimensions
- Panel thickness
- Pedestal-head configuration
- Stringer configuration
- Surface-finish thickness
- Required structural load
- Damper requirements
A nominal 24-inch floor panel is not automatically compatible with every 24-inch raised-floor system.
If you are unsure which system you have, use our Raised Access Floor Panel Identification Guide before placing an order.
High-Pressure Laminate Surface
The AF1250 is supplied with a high-pressure laminate (HPL) surface designed for raised-floor technical environments.
The HPL finish provides:
- Durable walking surface
- Clean appearance
- Antistatic properties
- Compatibility with surrounding finished panels
- Protection for the steel panel beneath
The listed standard color is Cheyenne Gray 70103.
When replacing an existing panel, verify both the panel construction and the finish thickness so that the AF1250 sits level with adjacent floor panels.
AF1250 vs. AF250: Which 25% Airflow Panel Should You Choose?
Both panels provide 25% open area, but they are designed around different raised-floor systems and structural requirements.
| Feature | AF250 | AF1250 |
|---|---|---|
| Open Area | 25% | 25% |
| Concentrated Load | 1,000 lbf | 1,250 lbf |
| Construction | Steel | All steel |
| Available Size | 24″ or 600 mm | 24″ |
| Primary Compatibility | FS-Series / S-Series | FSD-Series / SD-Series |
| Damper Option | Top-adjusting slide damper | Top-adjusting / galvanized slide damper |
| Best Fit | Moderate-duty 25% airflow | Higher-load 25% airflow for FSD/SD systems |
Choose the ASM AF250 when FS- or S-Series compatibility and a 1,000 lbf concentrated load rating meet the project requirements.
Choose the AF1250 when the existing floor uses an FSD- or SD-Series system or when a 1,250 lbf concentrated load rating is required.
Compare ASM Data Center Airflow Panels
| Model | Open Area | Construction | Concentrated Load | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AF250 | 25% | Steel | 1,000 lbf | Standard 25% airflow / FS & S-Series |
| AF1250 | 25% | Steel | 1,250 lbf | Higher-load 25% airflow / FSD & SD-Series |
| AF320 | 32% | Steel | 1,500 lbf | Higher airflow and heavier steel construction |
| AF500 / AF600 | 56% | Aluminum | 1,750 / 2,500 lbf | High-volume airflow and high-density cooling |
When Is the AF1250 a Good Choice?
The AF1250 is particularly well suited for:
- Data center cold aisles
- Server rooms using underfloor cooling
- FSD-Series raised-floor systems
- SD-Series raised-floor systems
- Applications requiring 25% open area
- Locations requiring more structural capacity than a 1,000 lbf panel
- Replacement of compatible legacy airflow panels
- Facilities requiring adjustable airflow control
- Installations requiring an HPL finished surface
Frequently Asked Questions
How much open area does the ASM AF1250 provide?
The AF1250 provides 25% open area for controlled conditioned-air delivery from a raised-floor plenum.
What is the load rating of the AF1250?
The AF1250 has a published 1,250 lbf concentrated load rating based on the product information currently available.
What is the difference between the AF1250 and AF250?
Both panels provide 25% open area. The AF1250 has a higher 1,250 lbf concentrated load rating and is designed for FSD- and SD-Series systems, while the AF250 is rated at 1,000 lbf and is compatible with FS- and S-Series systems.
Does the AF1250 have an airflow damper?
The AF1250 is available with optional airflow-control configurations including top-adjusting slide dampers and galvanized slide dampers.
Does the AF1250 fit any 24-inch raised floor?
No. A nominal 24-inch panel size does not guarantee compatibility. The existing floor system, panel thickness, pedestal heads, stringers, and finish height should all be verified before ordering.
Is the AF1250 available in 600 mm?
The supplied product information lists the AF1250 as a 24-inch panel only. If a 600 mm panel is required, verify availability before ordering or consider another compatible airflow-panel model.
Availability & Fitment
Product availability varies depending on warehouse inventory. Large-quantity orders beyond available stock may require approximately 16–20 weeks for fulfillment.
Because solid and airflow panels must match the existing raised-floor system, please verify fitment before ordering. Solid and airflow panels are non-returnable.
